I saw this the other day and it struck a chord with me. How often do I parrot what someone else has said simply because it's easier than taking the time to research or think critically on my own. I'm not positive Oscar Wilde actually said this although it is often attributed to him. He did, however, say "Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone elses opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." A bit more cynical than the quote on the picture. But, it did make me pause. How many of my 'observations' or thoughts have been framed by anothers' opinion and their's by someone else's and on and on. It's easier to espouse something you heard that sounds 'good' than do your own research or creative thinking and come up with your own opinion. Could be you would arrive at the same thought, but then there would be solid reason behind it. I'm going to be more mindful of what and why I say things. What about you?
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
